Breastfeed With Confidence

Be prepared so you can have the Best Start to Breastfeeding!

“Breastfeeding is natural, I will have no problems”
“Why is this so hard?”
“Why do all the other mums manage and I struggle so much with breastfeeding?”
“I’m the only one who can’t breastfeed”
“I thought breast feeding was natural” …..

That’s what we thought too!

Cracked nipples, low supply, blocked ducts, mastitis, low weight gain, tongue tie….

Overwhelmed mums and babies.. we have seen it all, and experienced many of these challenges ourselves!

The good news is these challenges can be overcome!

I’m Eve! I am a wife, a mum of two gorgeous boys, a Midwife, and an International Certified Lactation Consultant, and I am the owner of Best Start Lactation Consultancy.

Over the last 10 years, Best Start has grown, and we are now a team of four! I have three fabulous lactation consultants who work with me, and our mission is to help you get the best out of your breastfeeding experience – whatever that means for you and your baby.

This could mean helping you understand the basics of breastfeeding, what it “looks” sounds and feels like. Or helping you identify reasons for breastfeeding challenges and ways to overcome those.

Whatever your situation often it just takes a professional eye, understanding ear and a calming voice.

Let the team at Best Start be that for you.

But first….. What stage of your breastfeeding journey are you at?

“I’m pregnant and want to feel prepared for breastfeeding”

“I’m struggling with breastfeeding”

I thought I knew how to breastfeed.

After all, I had been a midwife for over 20 years and have helped support many achieve their breastfeeding goals.

But then I became a mum! Little did I know it’s not really what we know… it’s what our babies can or cannot do that makes breastfeeding work or struggle!

I had the most challenging breastfeeding experience with my first son, with such little support, conflicting advice, negative comments and a baby that didn’t know how to feed.

After 3 months of poor latch, low weight gain, probable reflex and lots of tears from baby and me, he finally “got it”.

This was when my passion grew. And nearly 10 years ago I became an IBCLC to ensure I could be a valuable resource to the Perth community and beyond.

And now I’m helping women like you form realistic, individualised goals and get on the path towards a healthy & happy breastfeeding relationship. You’ll be fully supported, listened to and given evidence based advice – from someone who really understands.

Some paths in life are meant to be – this is mine.
